Exploring, Spending Time Together

I am so grateful,
to have these people in my life.

They mean the world to me.
We travel together.
We have a date night
EVERY Saturday night, it's wonderful.
I don't have any brothers and sisters.
Its just us.
And usually my grandma too.
and, I couldn't ask for anything more.
We went on a weekend trip.
The kids love it when Mamu (grandma) and PaPa go.

***

We went to the zoo.

I was hoping they were going to get up for us. But, nope, they didn't.

This bird was a trip. It was so tall.

we had fun. walked A LOT.

***

We walked through a cave.
I could have easily got spooked.
But I just kept walking and enjoying my surroundings.
Concentrating on the 127 steps.
Making sure no one slipped.

We also visited a cove. It was beautiful.
On the other side of this brown fence  you could walk.
Let me tell you from up on the hill, made a Mom real nervous
not really being able to see what was on the other side.
REALLY NERVOUS.
Lets just say I quickly made my way down and rallied up the troop.

The kids were pooped. Their little feet did a lot of walking.
Daddy was a trooper.

He couldn't see.
Had a funky, stuffed animal in his face.
Glasses were getting smashed.
But she needed a lift, and he gave it to her.

***

We got lost on the way out.
And not only did it take us forever to get out of the cove.
I got sick.
Car sick I guess.
Holy moly, mama did not feel good.
I even passed up an outlet shopping on the way home
and that ain't like me.

But I did see some darling houses during our
adventure trying to GET OUT.

The one above was a favorite. Cute awnings.
Love the greenery.
The door.
The flag.

love the front door and the windows of this one.

and the cute entrance on this one.

We had a great time.
Wish we would have found the cove first.
I think we would have ditched the zoo and just
hung out there.
I would have loved to look at more homes.

The Sign Said FREE

We were driving home a few nights ago
and passed a house with a huge box out front
that said

 FREE Rocket Ship
Must Use Imagination

I drove by it, thought about it for a minute
and turned right around.
My family, what are you doing? where are you going?
I pulled up in the drive way and asked hubby to load it up.
And thats exactly what he did.

It took a few days to get the project started.
The kids were sketching out their ideas.
Deciding what name to call it.
It was so cool to listen to them talk about it.

Decisions being made

doors and windows being cut

loving it so far

paint day started
they decided on a green door

they had a blast

worked together

using their imaginations

and enjoying every single moment of it

stay tuned for the finished fort.

4th Of July

The first couple weeks of summer were super busy,
super fun.
Now on to the 4th of July.

Time with family and Friends
Thankful for our FREEDOM
Couldn't ask for anything more

pool eyes
poor baby

Darkness came and we packed up and headed to watch fireworks with friends.
It was great.
Good ol' country music and the outdoors.
2 of my favorite things.

Under the blue blanket was this scared, tired little princess.
I think I immediately took compassion to her because
I was scared of fireworks as a kid. So, I took her from her Daddy,
held her, patted and rocked her, within 5 minutes she was out.
Sweet little girl.

Neighbors.
Good Friends.
Good Times.

***

After seeing the firework show we came home
and played a little more.

First time the kids held sparklers.

We had fun creating this

Summer's good, isn't it?
Hope you are enjoying yours so far.
What's your favorite part?

Daddy - Daughter Camping Trip

First on the summer list
was CeLeBrAtInG my 40th Bday.
Second on the list was a Daddy/Daughter Camping Trip.
The girls had no idea they were going.
Daddy had the car packed ready to go.
He needed to get a call saying it was a go.
And luckily he did.
The car was secretly packed.
He called the girls in and shared the news.
I looked around, asked, where are the girls.
They were in the car buckled in ready to go.
So cool.

it was beautiful

they had a blast

slept well

explored

enjoyed the surroundings

just the girls and their dad

pretty cool

hubby thinking of me when he saw this

They had a great time.
And Mommy was able to get orders filled.
